Community
West Nairobi School has a strong commitment to actively supporting our community, and instilling life-long values of giving back to the community in our students.
The greatest commandment is to love the Lord your God with your whole heart, soul, and mind, and the second greatest commandment is to love your neighbor as yourself (Matthew 22:36-40).
That is the goal of the WNS Community Service program–to teach students to love others and do jobs that may not be very pleasant with a good attitude. We desire to have the attitude of Christ as it says in Philippians 2:5. What does that attitude look like? We will discover this together as we serve through community development outreach programs and study Christ’s character through our years at WNS.
The long term goal of this project is to give students a wide variety of service-oriented experiences in their years at WNS.
We strive to teach students to be servant leaders and shine the Love of Christ, not only through their words but through their actions and through their interaction with one another – showing practical Christian love in action with what we have be it food, clothing, or simple friendship and laughter.
